Sloane Adrogué Gustafson was born and raised in Houston, Texas as the eldest to an Argentinian mother and American father. Her fascination with fashion design began through years of rigorous study at the Glassell School of Art in Houston, later enrolling in summer intensives at Parsons and Central Saint Martins to study experimental pattern making, art direction, and enhanced illustration. She has built upon this education by designing collections for over a dozen fashion shows, two of which she led and raised $120,000 for women’s and children’s causes. Sloane has delivered a TEDx Youth Talk entitled “Perceptions of Perfection in Fashion Design & Culture,” and served as the Fashion Director for Hoot Magazine and Holler Magazine, Columbia University’s only fashion magazines, which garnered over 4.7 million views through our combined digital and print presence, were named must-read magazines by Harper’s Bazaar and presented to Anna Wintour and Eva Chen.

Sloane has had the pleasure of creating samples at Oscar de La Renta, maintaining the show rooms at What Goes Around Comes Around and Marchesa, and working on the marketing team at Hearst Design Group. She has most recently penned a thesis entitled "Hecho en Estados Unidos" to graduate on the Dean's List from Columbia University. "Hecho en Estados Unidos" argued that federal and state-level policies obscure the everyday realities of immigrant garment workers, unless they are produced in conjunction with immigrant garment workers. When produced in close coordination with these workers, legislation and similarly fashioned media representations, “Hecho en Los Angeles” and “La Ciudad,” properly illuminate and benefit this community.

Sloane managed wovens domestic production and wovens Italian production for the Women’s Collection Production team at Ralph Lauren. Sloane moved into a new role that had not been previously held: Associate Manager, Product Development of Men’s Purple Label Sportswear and Tailored Clothing, and Men’s Polo Tailored Clothing at Ralph Lauren. Today, Sloane has been promoted to Senior Product Management Associate of Men’s Purple Label Sportswear and Tailored Clothing, and Men’s Polo Tailored Clothing at Ralph Lauren. As a result, she has managed all clothing categories across luxury womenswear and menswear at Ralph Lauren.
